The apathy of the university administration and the municipal corporation has created a dire situation for the students residing in the hostel. The Ambedkar Kalyan Hostel No. 2 at Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University presents a grim picture. While it is intended to be a welfare hostel, its residents have been struggling for the past four years. The area surrounding the hostel is inundated with two-and-a-half to three feet of water, which the students are forced to wade through. The students, numbering around 100, have built a bridge using doors, windows, and iron supports to cross the flooded area. They then have to traverse a perilous 200-meter stretch along a wall, facing dangers from poisonous snakes and diseases. Despite numerous letters and appeals to the university and municipal authorities, no action has been taken.
