A wedding in Vaishali, Bihar, descended into chaos following a disagreement over the ‘Jaimala’ ceremony. The groom’s side initiated violence after being informed that the ritual was not part of the bride’s family traditions. The clash resulted in injuries to several members of the bride’s family. A video circulating online depicts the groom’s party engaging in violence. The conflict began when the groom’s friends insisted on the ‘Jaimala,’ leading to an argument. The bride’s family explained their tradition, but the groom’s party threatened to call off the wedding if the ritual wasn’t performed. Following the wedding, the bride’s brother was attacked. Subsequently, the bride’s father and other family members were also assaulted by the groom’s side. The injured were taken to a local hospital.
