A woman in Bhagalpur, Bihar, was severely injured after being stabbed eight times by her husband. The woman’s mother has come forward, alleging that the husband had numerous affairs, with a total of twelve girlfriends. The husband, who works for the municipality, had been demanding 5 lakh rupees from his wife and her family, claiming he wanted to start a gym. The assault took place in the Jogser police station area. The victim, Sanjula Kumari (27), was attacked at home after being called back from picking up her children from school. She was reportedly attacked by her husband, in-laws and sister-in-law. Her brother alleged that they initially planned to hang her after the beating. Sanjula’s brother claims that his sister had seen the husband in compromising situations with multiple women. The mother of the victim added that her son-in-law wanted to remarry and was also seeking a divorce.
