Sudhanshu Trivedi, a BJP MP, launched a scathing attack on the Congress regarding its handling of the corruption allegations in Chhattisgarh, specifically the case concerning Chaitanya Baghel, the son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Trivedi accused the Congress leadership of defending the accused for political reasons. During a press conference, he expressed concerns over the urgency with which the party’s high command has come to the defense of those implicated in the alleged irregularities. He stated that this level of support from the party’s leadership was unprecedented. Trivedi demanded an explanation from the Congress, calling it a brazen act of corruption, and questioned the party’s vested interests in the matter. He also suggested the possibility of the scam reaching higher echelons of power beyond the Baghel family. Highlighting the pattern of corruption allegations against Congress-led governments in states like Karnataka and Telangana, Trivedi demanded an explanation from the Congress Party.
