Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak discussed the judicial commission’s report on the Sambhal incident, focusing on the issue of demographic shifts allegedly orchestrated by organized groups and foreign entities. He emphasized the government’s commitment to preventing any alteration of demographics in Uttar Pradesh. Pathak recalled that in 1924, Jawaharlal Nehru was sent to Sambhal by Mahatma Gandhi to investigate similar events, resulting in a detailed report. He criticized the previous administrations for inaction and the alleged appeasement policies, including the withdrawal of cases against terrorists during the Akhilesh Yadav government. Pathak also highlighted actions taken by the current government to improve law and order and address issues like electricity theft and insurance scams in Sambhal.
