Police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested a man with a disability for the alleged murder of his sister, who was studying to become an IAS officer. The crime took place in Aliyapur village, Hardoi district, under the Pali police station area on August 31. The man is accused of killing his sister, Manvi Mishra, with the assistance of their mother, who has also been arrested. Police are treating the case as a potential honour killing. The initial attempt by the accused was to portray the incident as a suicide. However, forensic analysis raised doubts, particularly concerning the location of the pistol. The weapon was discovered in her right hand, while the fatal bullet wound was on the left side of her head. A police official stated that the family was unhappy because the woman had married against their approval. Manvi had married a school principal in Bareilly at an Arya Samaj temple. The accused later admitted to the crime.
