Canadian authorities have arrested Zeeshan Akhtar, alias Jassi/Yasin Akhtar, in connection with the murder of NCP MLA Baba Siddique. The crime, which took place on October 12, 2024, outside Siddique’s son’s office in Bandra, has seen a major breakthrough with Akhtar’s apprehension. The extradition process has commenced, and Akhtar is expected to be brought to India to face charges. Investigations suggest the involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother-in-law. Law enforcement believes Lawrence Bishnoi orchestrated the killing, and the motive may be linked to Siddique’s connections with Bollywood star Salman Khan. Initial investigations also uncovered links to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, leading to the arrest of 26 individuals, including Shiv Kumar Gautam and Anmol Bishnoi. It is also known that Lawrence Bishnoi had planned an attack on the residence of Singer AP Dhillon in Canada. Following the murder, Baba’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, had also been targeted with threats. The authorities are closely monitoring developments, and further information is expected soon. Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, identified by the Mumbai Crime Branch, is alleged to have provided essential support to the shooters from outside, including information and logistical assistance such as arranging rental properties. Akhtar, from Shakar village, Nakodar, Jalandhar, was previously arrested in 2022 for organized crime-related offenses. He was released on June 7, 2024. While in Patiala Jail, he allegedly received instructions from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to murder Siddique.
