15th anniversary of Madanwada incident: 29 soldiers including SP were martyred in Naxalite attack, officers, leaders and villagers paid tribute to the martyred soldiers

Pramod Nirmal, Mohla-Manpur. 15 years ago on this day, a big Naxal attack took place in Korkotti-Madanwada area of ​​Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, in which 29 soldiers including the SP were martyred. This incident is being remembered in the state today. In Manpur area, the police department, administration, public representatives and local people saluted the martyrdom. They paid emotional tribute to the martyrs by garlanding their photographs.

Let us tell you that on 12th July 2009, SP Vinod Kumar Chaubey had left with his convoy to take the bodies of two martyred soldiers killed by Naxalites in Madanwada police station to the headquarters. During this, Maoists exploded a bomb in the middle of the road near village Korkotti, just 6 km away from Manpur headquarters. They also surrounded the soldiers from all sides and fired indiscriminately at them. In this incident, 25 soldiers including SP Chaubey were martyred. On the same day, Naxalites exploded a bomb and fired at another police party which was going from Sitagaon to go to Madanwada, near village Karekatta, in which two soldiers including Aundhi police station in-charge were martyred. In this way, 29 soldiers including SP were martyred on this day.

A tribute meeting was organized in the memory of the martyrs at Manpur block headquarters, in which the top officials of the local administration and police department, public representatives and villagers including the soldiers paid tribute to the martyrs by offering floral tributes to their oil paintings.
