7 Killed as Sponge Iron Unit Explodes in Chhattisgarh

At least seven people lost their lives and numerous others were hospitalized after a violent explosion at a sponge iron unit in Balodabazar, Chhattisgarh. The blast occurred at the Real Ispat facility in the Bakulahi area, causing significant structural damage to the plant and immediate casualties among the staff on duty. Local police and the district collector arrived promptly to coordinate the relief operations. The critically injured victims are currently receiving specialized care in Bilaspur, where several are reported to be in a life-threatening condition. The Industrial Safety Department has been tasked with conducting a thorough audit of the site.
