In a meeting held in New Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah lauded the efforts of officials involved in recent anti-Naxal operations. The meeting acknowledged the significant achievements in these operations, attended by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. Shah reiterated the government’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism from India. The operations, supervised by the Union Home Minister, targeted areas within Abujhmad, including an operation from May 18-21, 2025, led by the Chhattisgarh Police with the participation of District Reserve Guard (DRG) forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur. The operation resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Baswaraju alias Gaganna, in an encounter on May 21, 2025, near the village of Boter, with a large cache of weapons and ammunition seized. The honored officials included key figures from Chhattisgarh Police, such as Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam and others. Also present were senior officials including Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka.
