A senior police officer, ASP Akash Rao Giripunje, has been martyred in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. Several other police officers were also injured in the explosion, which occurred near Dondra village. The security forces were patrolling the area in light of a bandh called by CPI(M). The injured have been admitted to Konta Hospital. The blast highlights the ongoing conflict between security forces and Naxalites in the region. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra mourned the loss of ASP Giripunje, recognizing his contributions and bravery. Search operations have been initiated to locate the perpetrators of the attack.
