Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district witnessed a successful anti-Naxal operation today, with security forces neutralizing six Maoist fighters. The encounter took place in the sensitive Indravati National Park region after a joint team received credible information about the presence of high-ranking Maoist officials. Personnel from the DRG and STF were involved in the prolonged exchange of gunfire. Following the intense combat, the search of the encounter site yielded the bodies of six Naxalites, along with sophisticated weaponry such as an INSAS rifle, sten guns, and a .303 rifle, as well as explosives. Reinforcements from various security units were dispatched to consolidate the area and pursue any escaped militants. This operation marks another stride in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the Naxal insurgency across the state and the nation.
