Shivam Mishra, Raipur. Knife-wielders have become rampant in the capital Raipur. Raipur police seems to be completely unsuccessful in controlling the knife-wielders. Incidents of knife-wielding are being reported every day in the city. The latest case is from New Rajendra Nagar area, where an incident of knife-wielding has taken place between students due to an old rivalry.

According to the information, due to an old rivalry, the accused attacked three students with sharp weapons. In this incident, Ayush Nihal (age 19 years), Pavitro Yadav (age 18 years) and a minor student are badly injured, who are undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

New Rajendra Nagar police station in-charge Jitendra Tamrakar said that when two groups of class 11th students started fighting over an old dispute, one student called his friend and attacked him with a knife. On receiving the information of the incident, the police immediately reached the spot and the three injured students were medically examined. The police have detained two minors in the case.

It is noteworthy that on an average 4-5 incidents of stabbing are being reported every day in Raipur. Two murders have taken place in the city in the last week due to stabbing in Telibandha pond. In one of these, a girl was killed due to a love affair, and in the second incident, a collectorate employee was killed for just 50 rupees.
