Brother-in-Law Arrested for Killing Husband Who Visited to Take Wife Home

A man from Lokhandi, Jashpur, was murdered by his brother-in-law after a family dispute. The victim, identified as RamSায় Ram, had gone to his wife’s parents’ home in Bandipa to bring her back on August 21st. An altercation ensued, and his brother-in-law, Satyam Ram, kicked him, causing a fatal internal injury. The victim returned home after the assault and succumbed to his injuries the next day. Police investigation revealed that RamSায় Ram had a disagreement with his wife on August 16th, which led her to go to her parents’ home. When RamSায় Ram went to bring her back, Satyam Ram, refused to let his sister return with him and attacked RamSায় Ram. The post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as a ruptured intestine. Satyam Ram, aged 25, has been arrested and charged with murder. He has confessed to the crime and is now in judicial custody.
