Bilaspur. The central government has appointed two new additional judges in the Chhattisgarh High Court. Advocates Bibhu Dutt Guru and Amitendra Kishore Prasad have been appointed as additional judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court in order of seniority.
Let us tell you that this appointment has been made under clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution and the tenure of both the judges will be for two years from the date of assuming charge of their respective offices. In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also shared the information about this appointment and wrote in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “The President has appointed two additional judges in the Chhattisgarh High Court after consultation with the Chief Justice of India.” He also congratulated Bibhu Dutt Guru and Amitendra Kishore Prasad, and wrote, “I extend my best wishes to them.”

It is noteworthy that the names of both the judges have been decided from the bar quota and the Chief Justice of India had recommended their appointment to the President. There are currently 22 judges in the Chhattisgarh High Court, including 17 permanent and 5 additional judges. These new appointments will increase the judicial capacity of the court and will help in strengthening the judicial work further.
