The Ministry of Tourism is working to develop popular tourist destinations to a global standard. Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, the ministry has provided detailed project report templates and operational guidelines to states. Applications for 87 projects were received through an online portal. Under this scheme, 40 projects totaling 3295.76 crore rupees have been approved with 100% central funding. The development includes the construction of the film city and the cultural center in Chhattisgarh, both of which will increase the tourism potential of the state.
