As soon as the information was received, the health department employees and the family members of the deceased reached the police station and created a ruckus. A mob of hundreds of people pelted stones at the police station and also vandalized vehicles parked in the premises. To deal with this situation, a large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot. To stop the miscreants, the police tried to disperse the crowd by firing tear gas shells, but despite this the situation at the spot remains tense.

According to the information, the wife of Pyun Guruchand Mandal (30), posted at Balrampur Hospital, was missing for about 20 days. A complaint in this matter was made in Balrampur police station. Balrampur police had called Gurchand Mandal to the police station several times for questioning regarding his wife’s disappearance. Even on Thursday, the police had called him to the police station for questioning at around 2 pm. After this he hanged himself in the bathroom of the police station.
As soon as information about the incident was received, doctors and health department employees reached the police station and created a ruckus. Angry people blocked the police station and SP office demanding investigation. Within some time, the anger increased so much that the police had to lathicharge and release tear gas shells.
