Raipur: The STF team of Uttar Pradesh Police has presented businessman Anwar Dhebar in Raipur court today on Wednesday. UP STF will try to take Anwar Dhebar to UP on a production warrant. After hearing both the parties, the court will give its decision in this matter.

Let us tell you, yesterday i.e. on 18th June (Tuesday) there was a lot of commotion between UP STF and Anwar’s supporters after which he was arrested late at night. Now on Tuesday late evening UP STF arrested Anwar Dhebar. During the arrest there was also a scuffle between Anwar Dhebar’s supporters. He was presented in Raipur court today, from where preparations are being made to present him in Meerut court of UP.

Bail was granted by ACB court

Actually, Anwar Dhebar got bail from the High Court on June 14 in the liquor scam case and he got bail late on Tuesday evening. But as soon as he came out of jail, UP STF arrested him for questioning in the hologram case. During this time, the supporters created a lot of ruckus, after which he was taken to Civil Lines police station. Where more than 200 police personnel were also deployed to control the situation.

Regarding this matter, Anwar Dhebar’s lawyer Amin Khan has accused the Chhattisgarh police of hijacking him. He says that even after getting bail from the High Court, he was kept in custody till late night. The family wanted to take him to the hospital, but the police did not allow him. Information about the arrest was given on a small piece of paper.

UP STF got approval from the court

According to the information, UP STF had applied to take Anwar Dhebar, former Excise Department officer Arunpati Tripathi and retired IAS Anil Tuteja for questioning. This application was filed in Raipur Court on behalf of the Central Court, in which after hearing, UP Police got permission to take Anwar Dhebar and Arunpati Tripathi.

Know what is hologram case

In July 2023, the ED deputy director had lodged an FIR at the Kasna police station in Noida in the fake hologram case. On May 3, the UP STF arrested Vidhu Gupta, owner of Prism Holography Security Films Pvt Ltd. During interrogation, Gupta had named Anwar and Arunpati.

Allegations and irregularities

According to the FIR, the Excise Department of Chhattisgarh illegally awarded the tender to Prism Holography Security Films Pvt. Ltd. The tender conditions were modified in connivance with the owners of the company and the tender was illegally allotted. In return, commission was taken and duplicate holograms were supplied to the Chhattisgarh active gang.

After getting the tender, Vidhu Gupta supplied duplicate holograms on the instructions of Arun Pati Tripathi, MD of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited. The gang members used to paste the holograms on the bottles of illegal liquor and deliver them to the shops with fake transit passes. Officers and employees of the Excise Department of 15 districts of Chhattisgarh were involved in this work.
