Raipur. The people of Chhattisgarh state are going to get relief from the heat soon. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain with thunder and strong winds in many districts of Bastar, Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur today. However, people in Surguja division will have to face heat wave even today. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon activities will intensify in the state after 2 days i.e. from June 17, due to which the temperature will drop by 3 to 4 degrees.

Some parts of the capital Raipur remained cloudy since morning today. There is a possibility of rain with strong storm and thunder till late evening.
The weather of the state was like this
Last Friday, there was heavy rain accompanied by storm in Surajpur and Raigarh of the state due to which many trees fell down. In Surajpur, a woman died after being struck by lightning. In Raigarh, two bike riders died after coming in contact with a broken electric wire due to heavy storm and rain.
The maximum temperature in many districts of the state was above normal, due to which people had to face a lot of heat and humidity. The highest temperature was recorded in Balrampur at 42.6 degrees. The lowest temperature was recorded in Narayanpur at 22.7 degrees. The temperature was recorded at 40 degrees in Raipur, 41 degrees in Ambikapur, 36.6 degrees in Jagdalpur and 37.2 degrees in Bilaspur.
