The healthcare infrastructure in Chhattisgarh is under scrutiny once again. The CGMSC has imposed a ban on several medications and medical materials being distributed throughout the state. The directive mandates an immediate suspension on the supply and use of two types of injections and four varieties of surgical gloves. Investigations revealed that the Dextrose with Sodium Chloride injections and Ceftriaxone powder for injection did not meet the required standards, potentially endangering patients. Doubts about the quality of various sizes of surgical gloves have also prompted a ban. The health department’s action has created a state of alert within hospitals across Chhattisgarh. The decision was made to protect patients. Authorities are considering taking action against the suppliers involved. The public and healthcare personnel have voiced worries and are pushing for closer oversight.
