An IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, has claimed the life of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje, while the SDOP and the station in-charge were critically wounded. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to the martyred officer and described the attack as distressing and reprehensible. He directed that the injured receive comprehensive medical attention. The CM highlighted the ongoing decisive action against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, noting that the success of the security forces has driven the Naxalites to commit such acts. He reassured that the state government will support the martyr’s family. ASP Giripunje, a recipient of the Gallantry Award, was known for his bravery and dedication. His death is a significant loss to the Chhattisgarh police. The government has intensified search operations and deployed additional security forces in the Sukma region, and the injured officers are receiving specialized medical care.
