The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, held a meeting at the CM House in Raipur. A key decision was made to support the families of police officers who sacrificed their lives. The Cabinet amended clause 13 (3) of the consolidated revised instructions-2013, which governs compassionate appointments. This change ensures that families of police officers who died in Naxalite attacks can nominate any eligible member for a job in any state government department, irrespective of the deceased officer’s previous posting. The aim is to provide greater flexibility and support compared to the previous rule, which usually restricted appointments to the same department or office.
