An emergency cabinet meeting has been convened by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to discuss the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other critical issues. A key agenda item is the potential compassionate appointment for the wife of ASP Akash Giripunje, who lost his life in the recent Naxal attack in Konta. Amit Shah is expected to arrive on a two-day visit on the 16th of this month, during which he is likely to visit the family of the martyred ASP and offer his condolences, possibly presenting the appointment order. The Home Minister will also interact with security forces engaged in anti-Naxal operations in Bijapur and review the progress of the ongoing campaign. The government aims to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by March 2026. The meeting will also consider the dates for the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, which may be scheduled for the first or second week of July. The government’s decision reflects its commitment to honoring the families of martyrs and ensuring their future security. CM Sai has tweeted his respect for the martyr, reiterating the government’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism and bring peace and development to the Bastar region.
