Kanker district in Chhattisgarh has witnessed a major breakthrough with the surrender of 50 Naxal cadres, notably including 32 women. The surrender ceremony took place at the Border Security Force’s 40th Battalion camp in Kamtera, under the leadership of senior Naxal figures Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam. This group relinquished 39 firearms. The surrender is seen as a substantial disruption to Maoist activities in the Maad region. High-ranking surrendered members include five DVCMs and 21 ACMs. This initial wave is expected to be followed by another, with around 120 Naxals reportedly planning to surrender in Bijapur by Thursday. Authorities are actively working to integrate former insurgents through extensive community outreach initiatives.
