In a tragic incident, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akash Rao Giripunje lost his life in an IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. The explosion, attributed to Naxalites, also injured multiple other police officers. The blast occurred near Dondra village while the police were patrolling the area. The injured were immediately taken to Konta Hospital. The incident took place during increased security measures due to a bandh called by CPI(M). The Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has expressed grief over the loss. This attack is a stark reminder of the challenges faced by security forces in the region.
