Chhattisgarh’s government has altered its Half Electricity Bill scheme, changing the structure of the discounts provided. Previously offering concessions on up to 400 units, the scheme will now apply a 50% rebate to consumption up to 100 units each month. The state government explained that roughly 70% of the state’s 4.5 million households, which is about 31 lakh families, use less than 100 units of electricity monthly.
