A fierce encounter in the Abujhmad region of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, led to the killing of six Naxals by security forces on Friday. The operation was launched based on intelligence about Maoist presence in the area. IG P. Sundarraj confirmed that the encounter involved intense fighting between security forces and the Maoists starting Friday afternoon. The security forces recovered the bodies of six Naxals, alongside AK-47 and SLR rifles, ammunition, explosives and other essential items. The ongoing operation aims to ensure the safety of the soldiers involved. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the security forces, emphasizing the commitment to a ‘Naxal-free Chhattisgarh’. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has set a target to make India Naxal-free by 2026 and has urged Naxals to surrender.
