Chhattisgarh is celebrating the recognition of its urban bodies in the Swachh Survekshan 2024. Seven municipalities and city corporations from the state will be awarded national prizes for their commitment to cleanliness. The awards ceremony is scheduled for July 17th in New Delhi and will be graced by President Droupadi Murmu. Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, Kumhari Municipality, and Bilha Nagar Panchayat will receive the President’s Awards, recognizing their exemplary performance across different population categories. Raipur Municipal Corporation will be conferred with the Ministerial Award. In addition, Ambikapur Municipal Corporation, Patan Nagar Panchayat, and Bishrampur Nagar Panchayat have earned a spot in the Super Swachhta League (SSL). This special category acknowledges cities that have consistently excelled in cleanliness over the past three years. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have lauded the achievement, highlighting the collaborative efforts of local bodies and the state’s Urban Administration and Development Department.
