In a move to support women’s empowerment and community development, the Chhattisgarh government has sanctioned the construction of 166 ‘Mahtari Sadans’. These centers are designed to help rural women become self-sufficient and strengthen social bonds. The initial phase includes the approval of three ‘Mahtari Sadans’ in the Manendragarh-Bharatpur-Chirmiri district. The approved locations include the villages of Duggi, Katkona, and Thaggaw. Each center will receive Rs. 30 lakh for construction. Each ‘Mahtari Sadan’ will feature rooms, a veranda, a hall, a kitchen, a storeroom, a tube well for potable water, and community toilets, all within a 2,500 square-foot area.
