In a move aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, Chhattisgarh is set to receive a major boost with the approval of several road projects. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s meeting with Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari resulted in the approval of multiple road initiatives. The Union Minister directed officials to expedite financial approvals for current projects in Chhattisgarh, exceeding a value of 7000 crore rupees. Moreover, a sanction of 600 crore rupees under the Central Road Fund (CRF) has been granted. This funding will facilitate the construction and enhancement of numerous roads throughout Chhattisgarh. The plans include the construction of four significant bridges to address traffic problems in Raipur. The roads connecting Raipur to other areas are going to be widened to four lanes from two lanes, improving both traffic movement and safety. The utilization of the central government’s ‘Gati Shakti Portal’ has been decided for planning the road projects to speed up the approval process. Additionally, a DPR for a 95 km, six-lane road between Raipur-Arang-Bilaspur-Darri will be developed, connecting the industrial, agricultural, and educational sectors. The Samriddhi Expressway’s extension will be extended to Raipur.
