At the three-day Dental Conference 2025 in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai outlined his vision for Chhattisgarh, focusing on the health and well-being of its 30 million citizens. He emphasized the government’s efforts to bolster the state’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that healthcare services are accessible even in remote areas. He also inspected an exhibition of dental equipment and released the Dental Association’s annual souvenir. Sai stated that the government has prioritized the health of residents from day one, with new medical colleges and allied healthcare institutions being established. The aim is to create a healthy and thriving Chhattisgarh. Highlighting the growth of healthcare, the Chief Minister pointed out the increase in medical colleges from one in 2000 to 15 today. He mentioned the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana, which provide free medical care, and the availability of affordable generic medicines. Addressing concerns about oral cancer linked to tobacco use, Sai stressed the significant role of dentists in promoting oral health. He shared an anecdote from his time in Parliament in 1999, when he advocated for an AIIMS in Chhattisgarh. The state government’s ‘Chhattisgarh Vision 2047’ document outlines 10 missions for the state’s advancement, with the objective of increasing the GSDP to 75 lakh crore by 2047. He highlighted Chhattisgarh’s abundant mineral and forest resources, along with its dedicated farmers and citizens. He underscored the importance of dentists in preserving smiles and stated that the conference would facilitate discussions on dental diseases and treatments. Furthermore, he touched on GST reforms, which aim to streamline trade and benefit the agricultural sector.
