The Chhattisgarh government’s Maternity Vandan Yojana is significantly impacting the lives of women across the state. The scheme, launched with the vision of fostering women’s economic well-being, health, and family influence, provides a monthly financial support of ₹1,000 to eligible married, widowed, and abandoned women. This direct financial aid, deposited into their bank accounts, is a key aspect of the program. The initiative, overseen by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, aims to address gender disparities while promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency among women. The program has a wide reach, benefiting over 69.19 lakh women in Chhattisgarh. In Narayanpur district, the scheme distributes over ₹2 crore 78 lakh each month to more than 27,000 women, including 3,687 from special backward tribes.
