In a deeply disturbing display of corporal punishment, two teachers in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district are accused of hanging a four-year-old nursery student from a tree. The incident, which occurred at Hans Vahini Vidya Mandir School, reportedly stemmed from the child’s inability to finish his homework. A viral video, recorded by a local, shows the child, stripped of his clothes, suspended by a rope from a tree within the school premises, while the teachers allegedly offered no assistance. This horrific act has ignited public fury and prompted an urgent probe by educational authorities. The Block Education Officer and District Education Officer have both visited the school to investigate. The school’s administration has admitted to the unacceptable conduct of its staff, labeling the incident a grave oversight and offering a public apology.
