In a deeply distressing event in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, an 11-year-old boy named Ali died in a tragic accident near the Kelora intersection. The incident occurred when Ali, who was traveling in a wedding procession bus, leaned out of the window. A passing pickup truck struck him, resulting in the severing of his head. The horrific scene shocked all who witnessed it.
The accident took place under the jurisdiction of the Hathras Junction police station. Ali, who was from Maksudan Nagar, was on his way to his cousin’s wedding in Mevali village of Sikandararau. He was seated in a window seat in the bus. At approximately 10 a.m., the bus was on the national highway. Ali, in a moment of youthful exuberance, leaned his head out. A speeding Tata Magic pickup truck collided with him, resulting in the decapitation of the child. His head landed on the road while his torso remained in the bus.
The accident caused widespread panic among the passengers. The driver stopped the bus upon hearing the loud sound, and on checking, discovered the severed head. The sight of the bloodied seat and Ali’s torso caused great distress among the family. According to a witness, Shahabuddin, Ali was seated by the window. A loud noise was heard, and when they looked, the head was missing. The seat was covered in blood. The Hathras Junction police were alerted and arrived at the scene. The body was taken for a post-mortem examination. The police have impounded the pickup truck and begun questioning the driver. Preliminary investigations suggest speeding and negligence as the causes.
