Detailed investigations into the death of Sunita Rajak have exposed the terrifying ordeal she faced before her murder. The accused, Suraj Dhruv, intercepted her near the Nandi Chowk in Patewa and offered her a ride on his motorcycle. Under the guise of taking her to the Kodar Dam, he kidnapped her and kept her in isolation. According to police reports, Dhruv strangled her with a saree in the woods after a dispute over her returning home. He then looted her gold and silver ornaments before burning the corpse to erase evidence. This wasn’t Dhruv’s first brush with the law; he had a history of domestic violence and had been convicted of murdering his wife previously. Police have seized the motorcycle used in the crime along with the stolen jewelry, and the accused is currently in custody.
