Following the arrest of Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation concerning a liquor scam and money laundering allegations, the Congress party has decided to implement an economic blockade throughout the state on July 22. The party has designated specific leaders to coordinate the blockade activities in various regions. The responsibilities include Lakhmeshwar Baghel in Bastar, Mohan Markam in Kondagaon and Narayanpur, Umesh Patel in Raigarh, Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya in Raipur, Dhanendra Sahu in Masturi, Girish Devangan in Durg, Purushottam Kanwar and Mohit Kerketta in Korba, Premsai Singh in Surguja, Ramkumar Yadav in Saraipali, Atal Srivastava in Bilaspur, and Vyas Kashyap in Janjgir-Champa.
