Durga Puja Priest Dies by Suicide, Disrupting Festivities in Dhamtari

A devastating event has occurred in Dhauara Bhata village, under the jurisdiction of Arjuni police station in Dhamtari. Vinod Kumar, the priest presiding over the Durga Puja celebrations during Navratri, took his own life by hanging himself. The incident unfolded on Friday afternoon when he left the pandal. After a considerable delay, concerned villagers went to the location and discovered Vinod’s body suspended by a gamcha. The community is now engulfed in mourning as the joyful atmosphere of the Durga Mahotsav has been replaced by sorrow. Authorities have transported the body to Dhamtari District Hospital for a post-mortem. Investigations are underway to determine the reasons behind the suicide, but the motive is not yet clear, leaving the village in a state of shock.
