Deliberation on the effective implementation of National Education Policy 2020 High-level one-day workshop held in Raipur Raipur, February 5, 2026/ A one-day workshop was organized by the Higher Education Department at New Circuit House, Civil Lines Raipur with the objective of discussing the challenges and possibilities related to the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. In the workshop, Higher Education Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma said that it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that the National Education Policy 2020 is not just limited to papers but reaches every student. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, College Principal, and Professors should themselves study the National Education Policy. He emphasized ensuring regular reviews by state-level committees, district cluster arrangements, task force meetings, and effective monitoring systems at the university level. He also said that it is the need of the hour to connect students with their culture, heritage, and values by incorporating Indian knowledge tradition into the curriculum. Local folk art and craft art will be included in the curriculum. Awareness among students will be increased by organizing online competitions on Indian knowledge tradition. Through the National Education Policy 2020, education is being made employment-oriented, innovative, and globally competitive. Minister Shri Verma stressed the need to organize detailed and multi-day workshops of this nature in the future. Shri Atul Kothari, President of Bharatiya Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Dr. Om Prakash Sharma, National Co-convener, Education Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Director IIT Bhilai Dr. Rajeev Prakash, educationist Shri Dilip Kesharwani, Dr. Narayan Gawandkar, and professors from various colleges were present as special guests in the workshop. On this occasion, Higher Education Commissioner Dr. Santosh Kumar Dewangan shed light on the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and its effective implementation. Chief Speaker Shri Atul Kothari provided information on important aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 such as the inclusion of Indian knowledge tradition in the curriculum, credit system, multiple entry and exit system, and the formation of a task force. Dr. Rajeev Prakash shared his experiences related to the practical implementation of the policy. Similarly, Shri Om Prakash Sharma highlighted the implementation of the National Education Policy at the national and state levels. A question-and-answer session was organized at the end of the workshop. In which the questions asked by the participants were resolved by the experts.
