A fierce gun battle erupted between police and Naxalites on the Kanker-Dhamtari-Odisha border, leading to the deaths of three Naxalites. The bodies of the slain individuals have been recovered by the authorities. SP I. Kalyan Elisela has verified the event. The Maoists killed were wanted criminals with large bounties. Shravan was carrying a reward of 8 lakhs, Rajesh had a reward of 5 lakhs, and Basanti had a reward of 1 lakh. A thorough search operation continues in the region. The encounter happened in the Tiyarpani forests, which falls under the Kotwali police station jurisdiction. Security forces were reportedly conducting a search based on information regarding the presence of Naxalites when the confrontation unfolded on the Kanker-Dhamtari-Odisha border.
