Family of Four Killed as Car is Overwhelmed by Flood in Jagdalpur

A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded near Darbha, on NH 30, within the Kanger Ghati National Park area in Jagdalpur, leading to the death of an entire family. The victims included a married couple and their two children. The fatal accident took place when their Swift Dzire car was caught in floodwaters. This family from Tamil Nadu was on a tour of Bastar. The car’s driver managed to escape by swimming, however, the four family members were unable to survive the forceful current. Additional Superintendent of Police Maheshwar Nag confirmed the event. The SDRF team worked tirelessly throughout the night to retrieve the bodies from the submerged car. The bodies were subsequently transported to Jagdalpur Medical College for post-mortem examination. The police authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident.
