The state of Chhattisgarh is grappling with the aftermath of heavy rainfall and widespread flooding. A devastating event unfolded in Bilaspur, where a family of four was caught in a flash flood. Three children have tragically lost their lives, and one family member remains missing. The incident took place near the Belgahana Chowki area. The family was returning from the Marhi Mata shrine when they encountered a rapidly rising stream. Rescue efforts were immediately launched by responding teams. The bodies of the deceased children have been sent for post-mortem analysis. The family and their extended relatives are in deep mourning following this heartbreaking event. Over the last day, light to moderate rainfall has been experienced across various regions, including Sarguja, Bastar, Bilaspur, Raipur, and Durg divisions. Rescue operations were initially paused due to the intensity of the rain and nightfall but were restarted as daylight returned.
