Raipur. Shyamji Pandey, father of former Rajya Sabha member and senior BJP leader Saroj Pandey, died this morning at Sector 9 Hospital of Bhilai Steel Plant. He breathed his last at the age of 92. A wave of mourning has spread after the news of his death.
Today, on Monday at 2:00 pm, the last journey will start from his residence Maitri Nagar and he will be cremated on the banks of Shivnath river.
Saroj Pandey’s father’s full name was Shyamji Pandey. Shyamji Pandey, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was a teacher. He was the principal of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) school here. Saroj Pandey’s entire family earlier lived in BSP quarters.
MP Vijay Baghel, former Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Vaishali Nagar MLA Rakesh Sen, Bhilai District BJP President Mahesh Verma, Leader of Opposition in Municipal Corporation Bhojraj Sinha, and Deputy Leader of Opposition Daya Singh have expressed deep condolences on his demise and paid heartfelt tribute.
