Gandhi Jayanti Special: Students showed Gandhi Giri, launched signature campaign demanding college, area echoed with Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram.

Purushottam Patra, Gariaband. Students of Amlipadar Higher Secondary have started ‘Gandhi Giri’ demanding a college. A group of students is gathering support by singing the hymn ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. So far they have received support from 700 people, and their goal is to collect 1,000 signatures. As soon as one thousand signatures are completed, the students will go to the collectorate and submit a memorandum regarding their demands.

The students said that they will continue the campaign until their demands are met. Students Atul Tamrakar, Shahil Mirza, and Vishal Mishra, who are leading the campaign, said that every year more than 300 students in the local area go for college studies, but due to the absence of colleges, they face difficulty in further studies. Does matter.

There has been a demand for a college for a long time

Local public representatives have also been fighting for a long time for the demand of a college in Amalipadar. Due to the geographical conditions of the area, 50 villages are often transformed into islands during rains. The BJP and Congress governments have given only assurances during their respective tenures, but the college has been established elsewhere. When the voice of the local public representatives was ignored, the students have now opened a front. On August 16, students took out a huge rally and submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Yogesh Singh Thakur. When the hearing did not take place, he adopted the path of Gandhi Giri.

alumni pain

Amalipadar resident Tribhuvan Tamrakar, Mukesh Manjhi and Baharapara resident Rukman Yadav passed 12th after 2021, but due to distance they could not pursue further studies. Avinash Bhosale, who passed 12th class 10 years ago, told that he had a desire for higher education, but due to the distance of the college, he had to do private studies. Former student and Congress leader Anurag Waghe, while supporting the students’ Gandhi Giri, said that the efforts made in the past regarding the demand of the college did not yield any results.

Tehsildar Yogesh Singh Rajput said that the memorandum has been sent to the higher office. As soon as there is any correspondence regarding the demand, the memorandum donors will be informed.
