In a significant upgrade for Chhattisgarh’s business community, the state government has rolled out credit card, debit card, and UPI payment functionalities for GST returns. This decision fulfills a key request from various trade associations, who have consistently pointed out the limitations of the previous net banking-only system. Now, taxpayers can conveniently complete their GST obligations through a variety of digital channels, enhancing transparency and reducing the friction associated with tax payments. Finance Minister OP Choudhary emphasized that this reform underscores the administration’s commitment to digital governance and making business operations smoother. The secure online system, available on the GST portal, is designed to minimize transaction issues and dependency on intermediaries. This strategic move is poised to boost Chhattisgarh’s standing in digital tax administration nationwide.
