On September 13, the Revenue Department transferred Prerna Singh from Raipur district to Mahasamund district. On this, Prerna Singh, through High Court advocates Abhishek Pandey and Durga Mehar, filed a petition in Bilaspur High Court challenging the transfer order. The advocates argued before the High Court that the petitioner was pregnant for about six months.

The advocate said that along with this the petitioner has the responsibility of a four year old daughter. Along with this, the petitioner’s husband is posted as Assistant Engineer in Raipur. It is extremely rare for the petitioner to shift from Raipur to Mahasamund and render her services during six months of pregnancy. In such a situation, the life of the petitioner and her unborn child may be in danger.

After hearing, the High Court accepted the petition and ordered the petitioner to present the application before the competent authority. Along with this, while giving a stay on the transfer of the petitioner, the petitioner was ordered to serve on the post of Tehsildar in Raipur district.
