According to information released by the Ambikapur Kotwali police, the fatal assault took place on the night of December 29th. The family had allegedly urged Durga Chaudhary numerous times to quit drinking, but she allegedly refused to heed their warnings. After the brutal beating, the victim was transported to a hospital where doctors attempted to save her life. Unfortunately, her injuries proved to be fatal, and she died during treatment.
