A sensational case involving the murder of a priest in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has been cracked by law enforcement, with the investigation pointing towards an illicit relationship as the motive. The deceased, identified as priest Jageshwar Pathak, was engaged in an affair with a married woman, leading to the tragic events. The woman’s husband orchestrated a plan to eliminate the priest, resulting in his brutal killing. The police have arrested the husband and four accomplices, including a minor. The priest was called under the guise of performing a religious ceremony and was subsequently attacked with a suspension pipe, which resulted in his death. The incident occurred on August 31st in the morning at the Path Baba temple complex in the Takhatpur police station area. The priest’s body was discovered with severe head injuries. Responding to the call, police, along with a dog squad and a forensic team, promptly arrived at the scene. Bilaspur SSP Rajnesh Singh also reached the location. The police probed the case from multiple angles, gathering statements from family members and acquaintances. It was during this time that the illicit relationship between the priest and a woman came to light. Several suspects were apprehended. This ultimately led to the resolution of the murder. Authorities arrested Suresh, Hemkumar, Dhanraj, Mukesh, and a minor. The police managed to solve the crime within 24 hours.
