Dilshad Ahmed, Surajpur. The game of illegal sand mining is not stopping in the district. Large scale illegal sand mining is going on indiscriminately in the rivers of Rajapur, Kurwa and Pratappur. Every day, sand is being illegally excavated in the rivers of these areas by dozens of vehicles. The sand mafia is openly ignoring the rules, due to which the existence of rivers is in danger.
Sand mafias are extracting illegal sand from tractors and tipper vehicles every day and selling it. This mining is not only exploiting natural resources, but is also having a serious impact on the environment.
In this matter, Tehsildar Shamir Sharma said that the matter has come to his notice and strict action will be taken against those doing illegal mining. However, he also clarified that if a person takes sand for his personal house construction, he can be given relief, but strict action will be taken against those who are involved in this illegal business commercially.
