The Chhattisgarh Waqf Board has mandated the hoisting of the Indian tricolor flag in all mosques, dargahs, and madrasas across the state for Independence Day celebrations. The directive, issued in anticipation of the 78th Independence Day on August 15th, requires all religious institutions under the board’s purview to prominently display the national flag. The board has communicated this instruction to all Mutawallis, emphasizing the importance of a respectful flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the national anthem. Dr. Salim Raj, the Waqf Board President, highlighted the decision’s aim to reinforce the values of national unity, communal harmony, and fraternity within the state.
