A wide-ranging strike by Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars in Janjgir-Champa district has brought administrative work to a standstill. The strike, which began due to unmet demands encompassing 17 key points, is causing widespread disruption. Essential services, including the handling of revenue court cases, land title registrations, issuance of vital certificates, and farmer registration processes, are severely affected. Citizens seeking these services are being turned away, and legal professionals are also incurring financial setbacks as a result. Prior to the indefinite strike, a one-day protest was staged on July 28th in Janjgir, followed by a demonstration in Raipur involving Tehsildars from across the state. The lack of resolution to their demands prompted the indefinite strike which started on July 30th. The strike’s duration raises concerns about the potential escalation of public inconvenience.
